Cuz it was ladies night!

I love girls night. There is nothing like hanging out with an awesome girlfriend.

Last night the amazing Steph Campbell and I had probably like... the best night of our lives. LOL. No. I'm not kidding. It was FAB.

We're both HUGE fans of Bobby Long. Like HUGE. We've both mentioned him in books we've written and talk about him all the time. He recently released a book of poetry which is fantastic, btw. When I heard he was having a private poetry reading and show, and when I say private I'm talking like, Bobby Long and 25-30 fans, at a house, I knew we had to go.

And we got in. YAY.

We left for LA super early because we were stoked. Had to wait in the car for thirty minutes and parked too far away and had to walk, but none of it mattered! We were going to see Bobby Long!

This is us before the show. We may look a little dazed, but were happy. We swear.

Then Bobby came out and talked. He is hilarious. Seriously. I laughed really hard. It's really cool because he remembers everywhere he wrote each poem or why he wrote it and he shared a lot of that with is. It was really personal for him and I was honored to hear it and be there.

Then he'd read a couple poems

And then he'd sing a song.

And then we would swoon, but I have no pictures of that.

AHEM. Carrying on.

After the show he hung out and we got to hear his album that's not released yet. YAY. He signed stuff and talked and I got this!

And I might have swooned a little, but again, no pictures.

If you haven't heard him, you need to check him out. He's so soulful and passionate about what he does. Here is one of my favorite songs.

Seriously. Best. Night. Ever. As Bastian and Jaden would say, it was EPIC.

And if you're in the LA area, he's signing and Barnes and Noble in the Grove tonight. You should definitely check it out.

What are some of your favorites nights with friends? Favorite shows you've been to?

PS, the walk back to the car was scary and it was dark. First a parked car made a weird noise and I jumped on Steph. Then two crazy dogs tried to fight and we ran and she said, "if you run they will eat you!" So I stopped running and she got on the street and RAN and I'm like, "I thought they will eat us if we run!"

There might have been screaming and giggling once we got to the car ;)

  1. I told you, I had to get you to stop running so that I could outrun YOU. Because I'm an awesome friend like that. ;) Last night was the definition of the word epic. Seriously.

  2. AHHHH!!! What an awesome night!! Okay, now I'm dying of eternal jealousy, and so wish *I* could hang with cool YA authors and poetic, gorgeous musicians. Also, remind me not to run near Steph during the zombie apocalypse! Hahahaha! PS You girls are so adorable, it's just crazy.

  5. Oh wow! He's cute... *stares at his picture for a few minutes*

I love girls nights! But with my friends it's never a slumber party and gossip-fest. It usually involves something like pizza and The Avengers :P
